I bought this product to put on my newly re-finished and painted mower deck. I was expecting a tough-non stick coating that would protect the new paint and keep the grass sliding off of it. I was a bit disappointed with it. It's basically just WD-40. WD-40 isn't designed to dry and create a coating.On my 6 year old Toro Personal Pace, I cleaned all the old grass and grime off with a wire brush. I then repainted it and applied 4 coats of Mo Deck to it, with 24 hours between the paint and coats of Mo Deck. Now, grass doesn't stick and comes off with the water hose. The more coats you apply, the better it gets. My neighbor also applied 4 coats to his Cub Cadet 33" walk behind. He mowed his yard and his neighbor's yard (which had some standing water) without any clumping. The bottom of the deck was still Cub Cadet yellow. I'll be buying another can as I've used all mine to apply to my mower and my snow scoop! I have to remove the deck from the tractor (a REAL pain!) to clean it. I tried this Mo Deck,and all I can say is 'WOW!'. It works. Yes, it smells just like WD-40, but it works. Before spraying it on, I read the directions, and, as they suggested, removed all stuck-on grass, then wire-brushed the deck down to the rusty metal and paint (where there still was some). I applied three coats, letting it dry 15 minutes between coats, just like the instructions said. It dries to a hard finish, so it's not WD-40, even though it smells like it. I mow an area of around one and a half acres at a time. The last two times, there wasn't ONE BLADE OF GRASS in the mower deck! I'm an old man (74), and anything that saves me the trouble of removing the mower deck is fine with me. |
